CestaBaja tracks the prices of Mercadona products every day and keeps their history, so you can see whether a price has really dropped, how it changed over time and which products got smaller while costing the same.

How it works

  • Twice a day we read the public online catalogue of Mercadona and record every price change.
  • Prices are tracked for two price zones: the Peninsula and Balearic Islands, and the Canary Islands.
  • From the history we detect price drops, price increases, new products and shrinkflation (less product for the same price).
  • Product descriptions are translated automatically, so small inaccuracies are possible.

Independent project

CestaBaja is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Mercadona S.A. Product names, brands and images belong to their respective owners. Prices are for information only and may differ from the prices in stores or in the official online shop.

Data sources

Prices and product data come from the public catalogue of Mercadona. Some nutrition and ingredient data comes from Open Food Facts, a free database of food products available under the Open Database License (ODbL).
